Fn Magnetic models

Greetings, I wanted to share my latest find. First FM magnetic pair. This is the lite copper color aluminum looking model. The key is a gold copper color , says modele depose on the fn cuffs. Just wondering was there a couple models before they were permanently discontinued.

Only ever one model of the FN. other magnetic cuffs exist though.

My key is clearly different than the painted red ones. Could it have just worn away? I cannot see any place where the key had paint. Just a solid copper color. Were the cuffs made in different colors? Anyone know if FN made magnetic leg irons as well? Thank you.

This is the only model i have ever seen of theirs. Mine also has the red key. I have seen a few that copper/gold color and i have seen, i  think it was a black key? One of the copper/gold colored ones i know of, had a small bit of red paint around the very top of the key. So, i think that is the finish underneath the red coating. As far as leg irons, i do not know of any that were ever produced. The design itself, isnt very good. Its very easy to "pick the lock" with a powerful magnet.

Here is a pic from Andy's Cuff Collection I found on Google. In the first pic, you can see the key looks metallic in color. If you look at the second pic, you can see remnants of the red paint from the factory on the top of the key.

I cannot find any red paint traces on my key. It is all copper tone like the cuffs.

Probably one of mine.  one 1/2 inch neo magnet in a brass housing with swivel.

The key is not original. Original key is made from ferromagnetic material and equipped with ferromagnetic plate to close magnetic flux inside the key. Brass case can't be used as magnetic flux closure. Strong permanent magnet inside brass case will lead to sticking keys and other magnetic objects.

Resberius, I have already supplied people with about 20 brass cased magnets to act as keys and no complaints.

My set of key and cuffs came from Poland. Slow boat, waited two months and finally got here. No complaints, the key works every time. Thank you for all the replies, I new my pair was a little different.

To Key maker.

Of course, a key in a brass body will work fine. But if you close the original key with the plate attached to it, the key will become “non-magnetic” and will not stick

Where are you suggesting the 'FN herstal and model depose' is on, the key?

I was asking if modele depose is on the cuffs made by Ian.

Ian can correct me if i am wrong. I dont believe Ian ever made a replica of The FN Herstal Magnetic cuff? When he was answering earlier, he was saying that he only made the replacement keys for the original cuffs. I have a feeling that is where things got twisted up a bit. To answer your second question, he also didnt copy factory stamping on his replicas. I have quite a few of them and none of them are marked, except for his earlier made cuffs. I have a Stotz leg iron he did sometime in the 1980s. They are marked with his company logo. The company he owned at the time was called the T.A.R.R.C.  He can also fill us in on the meaning of that. I seem to have forgotten? I know the last part is Replica Restraint Company, but cannot recall the rest. I have it written down, somewhere? Hope that helps.
