Good day, I recently obtained these handcuffs that were used by the North West Mounted Police ( the grandfather of the RCMP ) and was wondering if anyone has any information on these types of cuffs. As in when they were produced, used, etc... Thanks

#2Hi they would of been used across the states and canada from late 1800s to early to mid 1900s most replaced by swing through by this time i would have thought. If you look on the main page of the forum you will see a massive in depth write up on tower cuffs from the start up date to all models made.
The lock seems to have seized up from years of not being used. What kind of oil or lubricant should I be using?

#4soak them for a few days in gasoline. If you have an compressor, blow them dry and this may remove grit and rust. then spray a silicon lubes in. There is always the chance the lock is shot as they are old and the springs are steel and thin.
