Houdini Spoof Handcuff

This is a picture of 1 of 2 of the original Houdini Spoof Handcuffs. In talking with Ian McColl, i know that he made five reproductions of this cuff. Chris Gower had one of the originals, that i believe he sold to Gordon Gluff? Does anyone know if he was the one it was sold to and if he still has it? Does anyone know where the original is located? It is on display somewhere? With Ian's 5 replicas, there is one on Stan's CD. Who bought the one he had and does anyone else here have one of the replicas or know who does have one?

I spoke to Bushey about these in September of 2017. I collect a lot of Ian's cuffs and wanted to buy these too, but I was short on cash after buying an early Gill cuff from him that same day. I still have the pics that he texted me, but I don't know if he sold it to someone else or if it's still in his collection.

The one in your photo was taken at the JM Davis museum in Claremore Oklahoma (I was with him when he took it). There is an amazing handcuff collection there along with the most insane fire arms exhibit one would ever dream of seeing. In regards to the other one you are correct that it is part of Gordon Gluff’s unbelievable collection.

Claremore, Oklahoma, you say? Wonder if the display is still there? That would be a fun couple of day road trip for me. Anyone else know of the where-abouts of one of the cuffs? Either the replicas or the originals? Looking for any help or knowledge the forum can give me. Thanks, everyone!

The Davis Museum is well worth the trip.  The handcuff collection and other interesting items were the collection of Gill before he made his own handcuff.  If you search the Forum files I think there are several postings of the collection.

The collection is indeed still there. Just so happens I had a friends who visited it last week. They sent me a short video of the McKenzie Mitts in the collection.

I highly encourage you to make the trip. Aside from the more known rarer cuffs in this collection there are some pieces assumed to have been assembled/made/used? by escape artist/magician Trudel. Fred Pitella would be the man that could speak more to that as I dare not use my lack of knowledge on the subject to try and recite facts. To Ron’s statement there are also some photos around of the collection when it was hanging on Gills wall in a modest home in Kansas City and some neat history behind that as well. All in all a cool collection with a great storyline behind it.

I am also a gun collector. The museum looks right up my alley! Im about 2.5 hours south of Chicago and love going up there to see the museums.
