unknown handcuff, france type

Hello together,

I have an question about one of my handcuffs and nobody could helped me yet...
Maybe here people can tell me, what handcuffs they are?
The only thing I can say is that they are french ones, because of the form... And I think they are handmade, because the theeth of the cuff are all different, like somebody file them manually.

Only information we found was this picture out of the book "A Guidebook to Handcuffs and Other Restraints of the World: A History and Survey of Restraint Equipment from the Earliest Times to the Present

Yes, these are French Cuffs. On Stan Willis's Collection CD, he just refers to them as "LaPegy Style" handcuffs. LaPegy is a well known cuff maker in France. This is a cuff, made by a different company (unknown), that was made to resemble a LaPegy handcuff. A "knock-off", if you will. Here is a picture of an actual LaPegy First Model handcuff. You can see the similarities between the two.

Studying the pictures further, perhaps "knock-off" wasnt the correct term to use. I correct my first post and say that these were "inspired" by the LaPegy cuff design. I think that is a better way to put it.

Do you know which factory produced my cuffs or even in which time they were produced?

No. I cannot find a maker for your cuffs. In books and in collections they are either called Unmarked or Unknown. Now, i can say that LaPegy was known to make cuffs around the 1950s to 1960s. I would think that these would have been made around the same time frame? But, its an unknown, really. Its even possible, that these cuffs came out before the LaPegy and that LaPegy actually made their cuffs using your type of cuffs as an influence in their design? I guess that coin can flip either way, without knowing for sure, who was first in making their cuffs?
