#1I wanted to share with the forum, the milestone I recently reached. I have now surpassed the #1,000 for restraints in my collection! This has taken almost 25 years to accomplish with over half of that number coming to me in the last 5-6 years. I say "restraint" instead of handcuff collection, because my collection encompasses the whole gambit of legit restraint devices. I do have a few movie props. I have an assortment of Kid's metal toy handcuffs as well as straitjackets and hospital restraints. Out of the 1,000, i have maybe 3 pairs that do not work properly and are just holding the spot in the collection until i find a better example. I am only missing keys for maybe 6 of them. So, I have done very well in finding working restraints through the years. Steve Chace, Ian McColl, Joe Tanner, Chris Gower, Glenn and several others have done wonders by helping me with keys. I have made a lot of contacts through Ebay, that have opened the world to me on my search for cuffs! I am very grateful to all who helped me to reach this point.
#1,000 is a McColl Replica of a Berliner. This one is gimmicked for use by magicians. It works very well! Still in great shape and I was able to get a good deal on it. I dont have a regular Berliner, as of yet, but always on the hunt! This makes my 16th piece from Ian's catalog. #17 will be here soon and I cannot wait to show everyone what I will be doing, next! Always in the market for his replicas as well.
