My fellow cadet had a Peerless that failed on him.
I was able to shim it open and I begged that we go to the cafeteria and smear some ketchup on his arm as we announced "I got them off"
He would have no part of that.
There is some kind of special ops school near me and they have brought in 2 students with defective cuffs.
I have mastered the removal technique now.
Bucket of water, towel and a carbide cut off wheel on a Dremil
Dip the hand into the bucket with a towel between the arm and the cuff. Cut the cuff arm 1/4 of the way and redunk the arm and towel, precede to the half way point and dip again until the cuff is open.
Also one must cut where the arm meets the HC body and not at the hinge as the security groove locks the arm in place.
