Delestatius question 01 May 2020

I have a Delestatius cuff that measures about ten and one eighth inches long with openings that are about two and one half inches in dia. and my question is does this represent the larger or smaller version of these cuffs as I read they were made in two sizes.

Are these the set that was just running on ebay? Nice looking, pair! Congrats on grabbing those! I missed them by about 15 minutes! LOL!

They are the small size, just about the same size of a small Rankin.

Interesting Gordon! I didn't know the Delestatius came in two sizes. My set has the same length as my small size Rankin.
Which size is the least common. Would you mind posting a photo with the two sizes of Delestatius beside each other?

Thanks Gordon that’s the info I was looking for and while we’re on this subject did the Rankin cuffs and leg irons also come more than one size?

What I found last night was some tracings of Deleststatius and Rankins from John Bushey. I think it was an effort
with him and Mark Lundblad. There are 2 sizes of Delistatius and 3 sizes of Rankins. My guess is the small siize
Delestatius is the common one. I know they recently discovered the large size Rankin. Maybe only 1 or 2 of
them around.

I have a round leg iron so I call it a Delistatius leg iron. I have a not so round leg iron, so I call it a Rankin leg iron. To me they
they match up. If they come in different sizes I do not know.

Interesting info Gordon, both of my Rankins are the small version and I assumed that they came in larger sizes too but wasn’t certain. This is why we need another book written just on the American cuffs.

Now I realize I have missed a "big size" Delestatius through eBay auctions as I thought there was only one size.

If memory serves, Damon had a Rankin in a very large size, a single cuff I think. They must be extremely rare as I've never seen another one since.

I think this is Damon's cuff that you are referring to, Lars. Doesnt really have anything by it to just its overall size?
