Froggatt non adjustable handcuffs (1 7/8")

Hello,

I have a pair of Froggatt non adjustable handcuffs forged of wrought iron in nice condition and working locks (i.e. both locks can lock and unlock with key).

I was hoping to sell these OR gather some information.  Some info:

1. The opening is about 1 7/8" -were these used on children?
2. Any estimate on what they are worth?

I am not sure if I am allowed to post sales here (forgive me if I'm not) but if this is allowed and someone is interested I would be willing to do so.  Otherwise I can sell on eBay.  These were purchased about 10 years ago from an antique shop in South Jersey and they have sat in a drawer since.

those are very nice. less common than Hiatt cuffs. the finish or patina is especially good looking. others with more knowledge will hopefully comment.
I wouldn't sell them for any less than 250 USD, but that's just a ballpark based on my own knowledge, they may be worth considerably more or a little less depending on the buyer.

Very nice set of Froggatt cuffs, nice deep patina. A quick ebay search shows these have recently sold from 250.00 to 550.00 dollars. Just depends on the buyer, your cuffs are much harder to come by then say a Providence Tool darby from around the same Era and sell for half as much typically. I personally would list them for around 300.00 dollars. Great cuffs wish I owned them.

The key is of the period but not matching number. The shoulder of the key is rubbing on the side, so it is ill fitting. That reduces the desirability.
