Cuff of the Day for May 27. Nippers from Europe and the Rest of the World

Nipper Madness Begins.   A series of days devoted to nippers, grips and come-alongs.

We conclude or Nipper Madness today with a look at nippers from Europe and the Rest of the World.
There are quite a view nippers from Germany, Switzerland and France.  I am not so sure about the rest of the world.  What do you have.

I will start with a pair Stoz Nippers from Germany.

Ferdinand Hauser nipper from Switzerland.

I've never been very keen on nippers but I still have a few. I wast just about to post thecHauser but Joe was quicker.

Here are two nippers which are quite similar but they carry different patents. One is Swiss and the other is German.

This is a very odd come along with a lockable bow. It's patented in Sweden by Almqvist in 1895. Only two sets are known, the second set is at the Swedish police museum.
The moving circular bow is spring loaded and snap shut by pressing a small lever. It also can be adjusted to the wrist in three positions. This piece is really awkward!

This cuff is marked JGA Germany.

I got three different nippers maybe from Germany. One is a Clejuso Nr. 6. The other two are smiliar but not identical. I got them about 11 years ago with no further information.
Maybe somebody here can identify them. I hope the pics in the attachment help.

I will add to the German Nippers with an older Clejuso single cuff model. Then add in a French Nipper that is of an unknown maker. The ball on the end of the chain fits into the slot and is pulled down to secure it in place. As long as pressure it held by pulling on the handle, it stays securely fastened. Loosen up and the ball can slip out of the slide and free the prisoner. You can imagine how bad these hurt when the twisting pressure was applied!

Before the day is over, there is a come along from Poland. The Marking on the bow is "PRO96", maybo model and or date of production. The key looks like other polish handcuffs but will not fit other models I have.

Glad to share it with you, Enris! The French La Masonotte also had 2 similar come alongs. One had a barrel key and one a flat key.

Oh great, I knew about the two key types of La Massenotte, I have the come along or in french "cabriolet" as the barrel key type. I also have both types as usual handcuffs, but the barrel key type with a long chain is in bad condition. One of the bows is cut off and the stands in the keyholes are missing.

I missed to show you two different chain come alongs, I think they'r both from Clejuso. What do you think?
