Hiatt HSS9 - available?

Hello everyone,

Just discovered the Hiatt HSS9 and I'm looking around for a pair. I know they're discontinued and found their successor, the TCH HSH1 (are they really any different?). Sadly, the latest I can find dates from about 3 years ago. Is anyone selling a pair? Shipping to Dublin, Ireland.

They look nice, seriously secure. Not what I collect but I'd still enjoy having them.

The one currently running on Ebay would be your best bet. It has all of the original keys and looks to be in great shape. As mentioned, starting bid at $200 and i believe its also a Best Offer auction? This is the 2nd time it has ran. The first trip around was $300 Opening bid or Best Offer. It had no takers. They don come up for sale, very often. As far as if the TCH version is like the Hiatt version, i dont know. I have never touched the TCH version. I would say they should be very close, if not the exact same, judging by who made them and how TCH ties to Hiatt. Since the TCH is newer, they may have changed materials or manufacturing on them to keep the cost down? That, I do not know?

So am I right in thinking there's really no difference between the Hiatt and TCH? The Hiatt is just a collector thing because iot's no longer produced?

I honestly dont know. Someone will have to chime in who has both, for comparison. When Hiatt moved its operations to the United Sttates from the U.K., the quality of their cuffs came down. I would suspect that these TCH models are made a little cheaper than an original U.K. Hiatt version. Just by judging the changes in Hiatts product lines when they moved. I have wanted to buy a TCH version, just havent done it yet. The original is really well made. Can anyone else on here, speak about the TCH version of the HSS-9?

Sadly, the HSS9 available on eBay isn't possible for me to buy :( they won't ship outside the US :(

According to this thread, TCH took over the Hiatt Factory in the U.K., when Hiatt left to go to the United States. In the thread, it says that TCH were a direct copy of the original Hiatt cuffs, just with different stamping and a nicer box. Thats interesting? I wonder if TCH jas always stuck to the old way of doing things or if they have changed through the years? At least when TCH started, they were a direct Hiatt copy.
