George W. Harvey

George W. Harvey was issued a patent on January 22, 1929 (1,700,047) for a chain police nipper. It was similar to a Tower chain nipper, but had finger grooves in the handle, which was made of aluminum (a steel handle version was also made). This was Harvey's only  patented invention. George W. Harvey had a brother, D.R. Harvey who worked for the John P. Lovell Arms Company for eight years in the bicycle department, but on January 1, 1898 moved on to the Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Company as General Manager of that company's new store in Boston. In January of 1906 D.R. Harvey became president of the Thames Arms Company, his brother, George W. Harvey becoming a director of that company along with Edwin C. Harrington, who became vice president. At the same time Harrington was an officer in the Harrington & Richardson Arms Company and both Harvey brothers were officers in the Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Company.

It's so interesting how intertwined the US cuff makers were. Just like the Birmingham, England cuff makers were.

There must be some kind of chart or diagram which can be used to show how they are all linked - I'm a visual person!
