Houdini keys?

I am not a key or handcuff professional.  But, I am a Houdini fan and collector.   I was wondering what your group thinks about the keys (in the photo) being around during the time of Harry Houdini?     I have a letter confirming that these keys were from Theo Hardeen who sent 75 pounds of keys to Paul Harter.    But if something stands out as not being a key from the time period then the puzzle is easier to solve.    I look forward to your expertise.  Thanks.  LP 

I do not see any keys that should be dated after 1926 here.
The problem is with the provenance.  Hardeen was known for claiming tons of things were his brothers, so if nothing is unique or shown in a photograph, the item is just a key or a lock or cuff.
I do not know who Harter is but if he had 75 pounds of keys and sold them for big money, what would stop him from stating that another pile of keys was from the same collection?
In my opinion, I wouldn't pay more than  $1 to $10 each for these keys as they will never be linked to anything Houdini.
People can claim all they want and sell for whatever someone will be willing to pay but any claims that Houdini, his brother or Harter will be under suspicion forever.

Another thing I just thought of was that most of the above keys are clock keys and furniture keys.
It is possible that Houdini or Hardeen collected all kinds of keys from their travels but I would expect more on the handcuff or padlock side of things to be saved.
Maybe that is why Hardeen sold them off if the story is true.

Larry Weeks once told me that Hardeen would get keys from the junkyard and sell them as Houdini’s. And I always remember the story about Al Flosso- I forget who wrote it in an old magic magazine, but when Al was behind the counter at Martinka ‘s, a magician came in saying that he needed a wand. Al reached under the counter and said “this one’s kind of expensive son because it belonged to Houdini.” The magician bought it and left, and then Al immediately replaced it with another one. When the reporter asked him about it, Al replied, “ what? Houdini owned a lot of wands!”

I am unsure exactly who Mr. Paul Harter was or is...but here is mention of him and his keys....from a 2016 Auction.
