#5There are two known sizes of the Malcolm Nipper's handle. The markings are the same.

He had all 3 hanging on his display and asked me which one I liked the most.
Thinking he might make me an offer, I had my eye on a mint condition one and answered that my favorite was the "Malcolm in the middle", naturally!

#8I talked to Stan today and he only recalls the 2 kinds of handles.
He believes that MAYBE one variation had slightly differed markings ie, pre-patent or similar.
I will try to find it from his DVD.
The biggest difference in these models is obviously the size of the handles and the more robust one is held onto the screw by 2 rivets which in Arioch's case worked itself loose from the screw. My opinion is that this is the first model and the second model might be the smaller handle version with welded attachment. Slightly smaller in size to allow it to fit in a pocket too? Just a guess.
If we can see Stan's 3rd model, we may learn more.
Another interesting thing that may be unique to this item is the long stamping of the manufacturer. In most cases the item must lay flat in the process. The stamping here continues over the hump in the center. Did the stamp have a valley in it to allow the peak to be stamped or was the item flat and formed after? If so, wouldn't the stamping be distorted?
