#1So we survived the first week of 2021 and it does not look so rosy so far.
I came across an episode of Pawn Stars that I have not seen before and it features a collector selling a nice set of nippers.
The producers asked Murry, a magician in Vegas to appraise this collection and the guys from the pawn shop as well as Murry state that he has a "Massive" collection of cuffs.
I know this to be untrue but I suppose that a dozen handcuffs could be called a large collection compared to a collector who has only 4.
This Murry seems to have a propensity of giving out bad information on this popular show of which I also appeared on and made myself as knowledgeable as possible.
This guy just guesses and makes up stuff on the spot.
The episode shows some nice items but Murry wrongly identifies a 1932 Model 2 Pratt as a 1916 Model 1 and states that "Houdini had a pair in his collection". I realize that the majority of the viewing public will never catch it, but if you are going to do a TV show with a huge audience, one should be prepared about the subject that he is representing and know what they are talking about.
The funny thing about the show is that the seller properly identified the Pratt 1 but relied on an "expert" appraiser who demonstrated that he does not know that fact.
I am not sure when this episode aired originally, but other than the misinformation within, it is a pretty good one.
