W. Leslie & Co Darby Handcuffs

I bought these on E-Bay not knowing the maker.  They are nice Darby cuffs marked "W. Leslie & Co", "Calcutta".  They appear to be British made (Hiatt??) with the W. Leslie Markings.  Research for this name shows a company in Calcutta with close ties to England.   Anyone else seen a Darby with such markings?

I have never seen a pair with Leslie mark and I have seen quite a few.
I do have a similar pair marked T.E. Thomson, Calcutta.

Steve and I had talked about this cuff, yesterday, a bit. His wife was able to find this article. Joe, do you think that these cuffs would have been made for his company by someone like Hiatt? The quality , design shaped and finish is too good to be made locally, because if they were made locally, most Indian made cuff would look like this  Either that or they suddenly lost the technique and skills in a singularity of time
