Info about all VoPo handcuffs

Hello guys,

I'm looking to find information about VoPo handcuffs and can't really find anything on internet... Are you able to help me guys? I'm looking to know witch one is made before witch one and model number. Also, I saw few set with a chain on internet and I would like to know if they are original stuff or custom item.

Any information will help me a lot!

Hello Jeremy,

You asked for the VoPo, aka DDR, handcuffs. Here they are. They are all made of aluminium. The two first models are not swing-around. They slightly differ to the shape of the key hole but they are otherwise identical.

The third one is a transition model and probably the rarest. The last model is the last and probably also the most common. The leg irons are made from the same version.

The chain version you mentioned is likely a modification, not factory made.

There is one more model that can't be referred to being a VoPo model. Still, it has the very same lock mechanism as the first two and takes the same key.
This one, one the other hand, is made of iron and extremely heavy. Pretty rare too.

Lars, Are you sure as to the order these were made in? I know on Damon Shield's collection page, he has the Transition Model listed as the First Model, the "Last Model" listed as the 2nd Model, then the non swing thru models. That is what I have always gone by. I noticed they are listed the same as Damon's order of manufacture on Stan's CD. Can anyone back up either sets of information for these cuffs? Yes, there is a chain version as well. Its talked about in The Handcuffs and Other Restraints of the World Vol. 1. I did have a picture of the chained version of the leg irons at one time, but I cannot find it at the moment. I will post it if I do happen to locate where I put the pic in my folders. Or if anyone has a picture of the Chained version, please share it. I have seen a small handful of Chained VoPo leg Irons sold through Ebay and other sale sites. Anyone have any thoughts to add to this discussion? Im hoping to verify one way or the other so I can update my Collection Catalog and my Wish List. Much appreciated.

Well, according to what I learned many years ago this should be the proper order, the non swing-around first, but nobody can tell for sure.
Maybe one of our German experts can comment on this. I will notify Michael and ask him to take a look at it.
In cuff collectiing, there are unfortunately too many assumptions and too less information available.

I just talk with Mr. Handcuffs, a German restraint collector and this is what he say


"The Order of the Photo is the right Order from Up to down. The earliest first model is the upper Handcuff. It is the rarest one. I call it "Model 0". The Second one is named "Model 1". The Third is Rare too, because its a Hybrid between Model 1 and three. The Last Handcuff is the model 3 and on some handcuffs are Stamped years between 1986-1989."
