Does anyone have basic history/timeline on TKS Type E cuffs?

I have tried to find out when they were made, if they were issued to police/security/military and what timeframe they were used etc but I cannot find anything other than the people behind TKS bought an earlier patent and started making the cuffs under their own name. I have no idea how old the design is, how old a pair of the newer branded TKS might be, where they were used or anything.

I would appreciate any tidbits of info you might have?

Alex Nichols books have a very good history of LaTrobe dates and TKS. Due to copyright I am not able to copy the pages.

I wouldn't need copies of the page, just some basic info about where they were used. Were they a standard issue police handcuff in Britain? As far as I know Hiatt have been used for so long and only switched to TCH, but I could be wrong. I have heard that supposedly some police stations have used ASP handcuffs in the past but I have never verified this. So I am just wondering what life the TKS type E cuffs had, where they were used, for what situations etc.

Thanks, that sure has some interesting information, though mainly what I want to know is how wide-spread they were used, were they a generally issued police handcuff and if so why was Hiatt moved away from? Were they only used in certain circumstances like plain clothes officers or perhaps only purchased by a certain set of police stations in the east of England or, you know info like that so that if someone asks me "I never even heard of these or seen them used by police" I can explain where they were used and why.
