Darbies marked HIATT 2. Is 2 a model? Size?

Hello.

I won the 1916 hiatt darbies I linked a little while ago. They are marked HIATT 2, have M&C 1916 stamped, the cuffs number of 268 and have a circular small indent on the outer crust of the closed end of the lock tube (size indicator?)

I did a search on here but I could not find an answer. Does Hiatt 2 refer to a model, or a size or something? Also out of the 3 pairs I have of Darbies, these are the only ones with the little round indentation anywhere, which I am not sure what that means. On the RCS models it usually is on the side of the bow and indicates size but my RCS do not have this.

I am interested in any info you guys have?

With them being M&C Ministry & Civil, I almost expected them to have a broad arrow / crows foot marking for military, but there is no such marking.

On the M&C cuffs I think the number 2 is a size marking, but usually the numbers are just for key control in a given batch of cuffs.  Finding a cuff with a key with a number match is always a nice thing.

I don't think they put the broad arrow on these cuffs because the M&C mark already indicated they were military cuffs.

Thanks. Do you have any idea of the circular dot indent I marked with the arrow? It's the only darbies I have which are marked in this way.

Could the circular dot be the end of a pin?  Some Darby cuffs have a pin or two used to help hold the end cap in place.  Hope this helps.
