Smith & Wesson Handcuffs from Handcuffwarehouse

Does anyone know where I can buy a set of Smith & Wesson handcuffs without the rusty laser etching. Last couple of sets I bought from handcuffwarehosue had been laser etched which looked rusted. I am not sure if this is part of S&W's process or Handcuff warehouse doing it. But if anyone wants to part with a pair of Universal handcuffs or know where to get them I'd appreciate the info.

Would it be possible to post a  photo of this issue. We might be able to ascertain what it is you're experiencing.  I for one have never had a single negative issue with anything I've purchased from DHW. Without seeing it I'm guessing it isn't rust. I also don't know what you mean by  "laser etching" on a set of S&W cuffs. 
I also don't know what 'universal handcuffs" means. Are you asking about another brand?

Varsity Blues, I do not have an example here to look at right now, but I know what you are describing. The last couple of sets I ordered for a friend from handcuff warehouse, also had the black/rusty looking laser etched serial numbers on the backside of them. I have not ordered any S&W cuffs from any other source, lately. So, I cannot say for sure if this is a handcuffwarehouse  thing or a new way for S&W to etch their serial numbers onto their cuffs? For those trying to picture this, the serial number is not stamped into the body of the cuff, like it has been in the past by the S&W factory. Rather, the serial number looks to have been laser etched into the back of the cuff's body. The center of the number is more black in color but fades to more of a dark red (rust) color as it gets closer to the edges of that number. I also noticed that the cuffs I bought recently had a "B" at the beginning of the serial number. I am also familiar with a company's "B Stock" product. "B" standing for blemished. Is handcuffwarehouse maybe getting a better deal by not having the cuffs stamped at the factory and etching them, themselves?  Or are they buying cuffs that didnt quite match up to the regular factory standards and did not receive a factory serial number stamp?

Hopefully someone can weigh in if they have purchased a recently made S&W cuff from another seller and has the same etching on them? Until then, im leaning towards it being done at handcuff warehouse. But that is just a guess on my part. If I can find an example, i will share a pic.

In all honesty it has been a while since I've purchased cuffs from anywhere. I should have stipulated that in my original post. That said, I can't say with any certainty what S&W or HCW is doing currently.  I have a lot of faith in whatever Richard says but I find it hard to think that S&W would allow substandard products to be sold with their brand name and logo so obviously displayed.  However in today's world, nothing would really surprise me. Corporate thinking isn't what it used to be.

How about someone asking directly with HCW? Then you might accurate information..

This past May I purchased a set of Model 100-1 Carbon-Nitrade Melonite handcuffs from HCW, and they did not have any rust appearance.

I have bought handcuffs (S&W) from two different places now and both have the serial number laser engraved. It seems S&W is no longer pressing the serial number in the cuffs.
