You are aware of that not only the the stampings differ? The "Patent applied for" has 15 nothes but the the "Patd June. 17 1862" has only 8 nothes.

There are several variations in the notches of the cuffs. I have two pat app for, one pair has the 15 notches on each cuff and the other, which was made into a bar cuff with a 12 1/4 inch bar which is tapered with ten sides, has 16 notches on each cuff.
Of the two sets with the pat date, has one pair with 10 notches on one bow and 8 notches on the other. The other pair does not have the milled notches but is fully notched across the bows with 16 notches on each bow.

So would that make those cuffs rare Ron? By chance would you have one for trade or sale?

The rarity of any cuff depends depends on many factors. The bar cuff is the only one known which makes it rare. The cuff with the slots completely across the bow is hard to find and the number of notch variations are unusual. Sorry none are for sale.

I will have to look and see.
I will be interested in the one that I do not have.
As far as I know, only Joe L and I have a pair with swivels.
