Global Shipping

Can not believe that a set of ASP rigid handcuffs that I put on eBay have been classed as a Restricted Item!
The cuff was sold to someone in Germany, I did not mention Global Shipping and was happy to send at whatever the postage was. Seemed there was no option had payment and instructions to send to their Mail address and they would ship it to the customer and let them know the charges.
Well it has been confiscated, I keep the money and the buyer in Germany gets a full refund. So will it appear in the near future by a 3rd party?
So who fancies making some money, I will
offer a set of Kub Darbies at buy it now for £750 you buy them and pay me, I ship them via Global Shipping, they confiscate them give you a full refund and we each pocket £375!

Have I got this right? You were going to use Royal Mail or Courier but eBay over rides the transaction and has the payment sent to Global Shipping and you had to send the cuff to them also which allows them to confiscate it? Was it flagged before it sold?

Anytime I sell Internationally through Ebay, I do not ship through Ebay, nor do I pay for my shipping through Ebay. I just mark the item as shipped and enter the tracking number I was given at the Post Office when I took the package in to them and pay for the shipping. Ebay's sales detail screen allows you to enter a shipping price, if the customer requests a new total invoice from you. I email the buyer and ask him to do so, then adjust the shipping and send the invoice out to him. I use the postage calculator on The U.S. Postal Service site. It usually gets me within $4 or $5 of the actual shipping cost. I usually dont ship items under $100 out of country. Too much hassle to deal with to sell cheaper items and ship them. Ebay is a real pain when it comes to international shipping of handcuffs!

Does eBay really force a seller to use their global shipping? I’ve had a few sellers in the UK ship to me using Royal Mail with tracking and the sellers have told me it’s less expensive and a much better service. I think that eBays global shipping might just be an easier method of shipping for most sellers, but I’m not certain. Ron J

My last pair of cuffs were from the UK and I asked my seller if we could avoid the Global Shipping.
He quoted me a price from DHL and not only was the price MUCH less than expected, the item arrived in 1 week. 
He was an above average guy to do this for me and a very astute businessman to go the extra mile for his customer.

Did you know that you can leave 2 sets of feedbacks on eBay for the seller?
You can use up to 500 characters in each feedback message.  Whenever I get a great transaction from a super seller, I take advantage of the 1,000 characters to express my thanks for saving me $, the time it takes to research the shipping and driving out to the shipping venue.
In many cases, we have a nice email chat for find out what he knows about the cuff and other interesting things.
I also express my gratitude of how helpful the seller was with my questions. 

In an entirely separate purchase, the other seller said he was not happy with the global system but eBay forced him to use it.
We were going to have him ship me some old nuts, bolts and nails under the eBay purchase and send the cuffs separately by another carrier.
The shipping would have been almost double but it was worth the money and security.

He was cool and was responsive to my idea but he just canceled the sale, kept the eBay commission and sent the cuffs directly to me.
A win-win except for eBay missing out on their part of the $$.

I feel like having fun with these cuffs - to see how many times I can buy them and have then confiscated!

One can also purchase discount postage through Paypal.

I normally use it for US mailings, but I think I have done it for international as well.
Saves a trip to the post office and is friendly on the wallet.

I don't recommend this but, a friend mails cuffs off to Europe and other places while knowing that a license is needed to do this.
She uses a fake name and address when doing this so if the Postal Inspectors try to nab her, she won't be there.
