Matthew G. Forte Obituary

To all his friends and fellow researchers, 
I wanted to let you all know that my partner, lover and best friend, Matt Forte passed away on Friday, September 2nd.
While I am immeasurably sad, I am grateful to have had so many wonderful years with such an amazing man as my partner.
I know that his interaction with his fellow researchers and collectors was a valued and valuable part of Matt's life.

So sorry to learn of Matt’s passing and while I never met him I corresponded with him many times and he was always eager and helpful with my inquiries. He will be missed.

This is such a small community. Anytime we lose one of the team, it hits us all. Matt was a great guy! Always there to answer any questions I may have had through the years. I am so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. My condolences and prayers for healing for his friends and family.

I also am very sorry to hear that Matt has passed away.  I never met him however he was one of three others that I worked with for seven months doing the research on the Lilly shackles.  The contributions he made brought the story together.  This research is the only one on the subject and can be downloaded from the Forum main page.

I am shocked and saddened. 
What a generous man; freely submitting his research to this site on all manner of restraints and Police collectables.
He was serious about the history and stories behind Police collectables, and I'm sure the physical objects were just an added bonus.
I think we should all be grateful for the foundation work he did for future collectors especially with his books that will be ever present in one place or another.

Matt was a wonderful person.  We will all miss him.
His many contributions to our field will always be the best.
He helped me out on numerous occasions and I am so lucky to have know him.
