Finding a replacement key (Hiatt)

Hi folks,

So I just acquired this set of Hiatts. Alas, the key provided didn't fit (with a note saying so too!). So this leads me to ask - is it possible to find a key that would actually fit these at all? I literally have no idea where to even start with this! I'm based in Ireland (and UK - dual home) in case anyone is able to sell one :)

I sold a pair of these so I no longer own them. But if you have a hollow tube that will fit in the keyhole you just need to file out a notch about a 1/4 of an inch deep and it will work. Basically a hollow barrel key with the flag broken off is kind of what the key resembles. Good luck! Ron J

I'm not entirely sure what half of that actually means, haha, and I don't think I could forge my own key somehow!

Find a hardware or hobby shop that sells steel tubing. Find a tube that will fit the key hole, then file out that cut out. It’s an easy key to make. Good luck, Ron J

Oh, interesting! I'll have to give it a try and see if I can borrow some tools from a neighbour, haha. Thanks for the tip!

Take the cuff and Rons photos to a locksmith if you can't find the right hollow key and tools. It's a very simple key. Good luck/
