#1I recently found a pair for sale and was wondering what they go for? I know it depends on the collector etc. nice pair of chrome or nickel cuffs with the box and no special markings on them?

#2I’ve seen them go at auction on eBay for $150 to $200 in nice with box and key. I believe it would depend on witch version/ variation though. Ron J

#3Model 1 will sell for more than a Model 2. Also depends on which chain variation it is. Does it have no chain links with just the clevis's hooked together, one chain link, two chain links, etc. I would say the common one to find is a Model 2 with no chain links, like the one in my pic. With a box and key, it would go for around $150.
Easy way to tell a Model 1 from a Model 2 is that the Model 1 does not have a ditched jaw. Meaning there is no line milled into the side of the swing arm or "Jaw." The Model 2 has a ditched swing arm or "jaw." On my pic, just above the teeth on the swing arm, you can see the line that is milled into the side of the swing arm. Model 1 does not have that line.

#4I recently got a pair of these two, but, honestly, I don't fully understand the description to differentiate between models 1 and 2, oops! Perhaps I should upload photos! #6Its not too dificult to tell them apart, when you know what to look for. I have circled in red, the line that is milled into the swing arm of this Model 2. The Model 2 is the only model that has that line in the swing arm. #7There may be a few exceptions, but typically Model 1's have serial numbers on them where almost all model 2's do not.
MY theory is that Model 2's were mass produced for the military and serial numbers were not as necessary as when they were more commonly used for police departments which mostly ordered Model 1's.

#9It seems like I have a Model 1 but can only see a Patent number engraved onto it. #10What I was trying to buy was a pair of Model 2’s with a box and two keys. Craigslist ad, (sigh), but the seller will not ship or negotiate so I’m out. Anyone interested in Central IL willing to drive might get a decent pair at asking price.

#11I made that guy an offer about 8 months ago. He will not budge. I tried and tried. He was listed at $300 for the longest time. He is just now down to fair market. I tried to go a little under that, as I really dont need another Model 2 set in a box, but he is stuck on his price. If he happens to come down to my price, then i will drive the 2 hours to go get them. If he still refuses, he can keep them. #13LOL! Same thing he did to me. Kept emailing me, after he said he would not accept my offer. I basically told him to take my offer or disappear. Its basically became a contest between to us as to who can hold out the longest, i guess? LOL! And as I said, it makes zero difference to me, since I already have them and dont need his set. All I would have been doing was to buy them to flip them to a wider audience.
