#1The only way to prevent chain binding is to eliminate the chain. That's pretty much the end of this discussion.
Replace the chain with a universal joint like Alcyon or a fixed wire length like some other manufacturers have tried. The bottom line is that if there's a chain then it's suspectable to binding and that's one reason hinged designs exist.
And for those of you that don't think chain binding is real well then you must be living in some kind of prisoner fantasy land. With the right strength level and binding positions you can snap most cuffs even while wearing them behind your back. Wearing them in the front is almost a guarantee of chain busting.
I have seen single link designs and even single o-ring connector designs but both can still bind and bust. So if you own a chain model get ready to bust some links :))))
