Triple but key looks all too familiar.. just wonder if they're any good

They are the exact same cuffs as was sold by Bri-Field in the U.K. a few years ago. Bri-Field was getting their stock from China and putting it in their own box. They are well made and seem to work fine. I have had no issues with my Bri-Field's, Nextorch Brand, or my unbranded version of the same set of cuffs. As a side note, Nextorch also sells this model in a hinged version as well. I also have the Nextorch new in box but havent taken a picture of them yet.

I think CoxysPicks detected some improvements on the Nextorch compared to the original Brifield I gave him. I forget what the changes were but I have a feeling he thought Nextorch were an improved mechanism somehow, insofar as picking resistance if I recall. The key reminds me of Bonowi, though I do not have a pair of those. I am not a massive fan of the Brifield. They are a cool design, but the Chinese cheap-feel of them is a big put-off for me. If we had a Chicago level quality cuff using this key I think that would be reallllllly cool.

A friend of mine bought Nextorch recently and couldn't praise them highly enough!

Yeah I was thinking about buying Nextorch hinged design but I am just wondering if they are available in the Chinese market unbranded where they would be much cheaper than paying the premium for the Nextorch branding... 

And I agree about Brifield.. I actually own a pair myself which is why I said the triple bit key looks all too familiar.... the thing about the Brifield chian handcuffs is that the chain links are made of extremely soft metal... 

i took the cuffs and tried to snap the chain by binding it... i didnt apply maximum force but the strength i did use showed me how soft the metal links are... they deformed a little bit from the force being applied..

i think the rest of the cuff is well designed and i love the triple bit key design with the triple pawl and anti-shim internals but its unfortunate they went so cheap on the link metals.. you would have to literally cut those off and replace them with higher quality links if you wanted to use these in field service in my opinion..

either that or prepare for someone to snap them because you have to know the chain inserts that enter the cuff housing are thinner and even more brittle than the chain links considering both are unified and made with the same soft metal..

i was thinking the nextorch hinged would be a better stronger and more reliable design
