Most Iron Claws I’ve seen have a five digit serial number but I have one with a four digit number. Does this indicate an early production date?

That’s what I was told when I purchased this 3 digit first model Iron Claw. It’s numbered 699. Ron J

I've got a pair with clear yellow rubberized plastic grips over the grips of the t-handle. Somehow, I got the impression that this option was factory, not a user modification. Can anyone here confirm my recollection?  Thanks All ~

I have never seen one with any type of covering on the grips. Could you possibly post a photo of yours? Thanks, Ron J

Here is my contribution to the Iron Claw thread. I have found 7 different variations, so far. Damon Shields, on his web page,  said there are 6 versions. The "unknown variation" is the last set on the bottom row. Its a Made in Taiwan version, but its not marked "Made in Taiwan." It has also never been plated. I do not know the story behind it or if there are even any others there like it? Has anyone seen an "unmarked" Taiwan version before? Looks like my lowest serial number is 4 digits.

Another interesting piece with the Iron Claw is this brochure that Mark Lyons posted on a thread one time. It shows the different way you can use the Iron Claw. Including how to use it as a tourniquet! Mark, could you, please, put a better pic up of this, if you have the brochure still? Its kind of hard to see in this pic due to the angle.

1st new cuff of the year!

Nicest 1st Model Iron Claw that I have ever seen.
I may be offering my old one.
I noticed that this one has a nice plating and my other one is just polished steel.
So we have 7 variations coupled with plating/non-plating variations too.

Well, I think I can now add the lowest serial number that we know of on an Iron Claw. My new one is what I would call a Model 3. On the back it shows one patent date and says "Other Patent Pend." I will try to get better pics of it soon. This is just a quick snapshot to show the serial number of 13! By far, the lowest I have ever seen! On the top of handle is the signature of the the guy who designed and patented the Iron Claw. The signature has been etched into the top. Another added bonus! Makes me wonder if he had this one personally or gave it to someone as a gift?

I think you really got something there, I for one have never heard of a two digit serial number on an Iron Claw.
