S&W font size

Can anybody tell me when Smith and Wesson changed the font size from one handcuff to the other? Thank you

There are a lot of assumptions there. ie, that all the cuffs were made and stamped by one machine at one location and that the number stamping machine never broke down or had to be temporarily replaced or that the stamping was done on a different production line for a different cuff etc etc etc. Paul

I know S&W started making their fonts larger before they introduced M100-1, which was in 2011.

The first S&W M&P handcuffs came out in early 2009 and had a smaller font.

I was wondering if anybody knew a closer timeframe when the larger fonts were introduced.

The S&W M&P Lever Lock handcuff was introduced in 2006 not 2009.
The 2 photos you posted in post #1, what model are they?
I never paid to much attention to the font size of the serial numbers, but I did a quick search and I can offer this scenario.
In the S&W 2003 product catalog, page 43, last page, is the first catalog that I noticed where they mentioned the push-pin lock system. Of the handcuff models pictured, only the Model 1 has the push-pin double lock system.  
In the 2008 product catalog, page 66, is the first time they advertised a Model 100P (push-pin double lock).
I have a M-100P with the larger font serial number.
The 3 examples of the M-100P that I checked the serial numbers are:
024676 small font
265145 large font
692735 small font

Sorry Dave. but the S&W M&P did not come out till 2009. I got mine March of 2009. they are they early ones welded, no Rivets..

Take a look at Dave's Pics he shared. The pages from the 2008 catalog show the M&P handcuffs. They had to have been released before 2009 to be in a 2008 catalog. Im willing to bet that Dave also has a 2006 catalog as well. That is probably where his information is coming from. He has written two books covering Peerless and S&W restraints.
