#1THE TOM GROSS RESTRAINT COLLECTION
Some of you might remember the former fellow collector Tom Gross. I knew Tom from several conventions in both the US and in Europe. Besides being a collector he was also the author to the book “Manacles of the world”, issued in 1997.
Tom passed a few years ago and one part of his collection was sold in an auction in NYC by Bonhams in the summer of 2021. The entire part was sold as ONE lot.
The other part of his collection was inherited by another person in his hometown, Portland, OR. This part consists of about 500 restraints.
I have been given the honorable task to sell this collection on behalf of the owner. I also want to credit and thank my friend Ian McColl who put me together with the owner.
I’m right now in a hotel in Portland and I have a great number of boxes with restraints that will be photographed, numbered up and catalogued. I’m planning to make a subdomain to my site,
www.holstcollection.com and sell the cuffs there.
I will handle the sale an inquires from Sweden and the owner will take care of packaging and shipping from Portland. Now I will spend a week here in my hotel room to prepare for the upcoming sale.
The collection consists of both high end restraints but also lesser cuffs. One problem is that many restraints lack keys. However, the function of all restraints will be tested by myself and they will be described correctly. To me, customers satisfaction is of highest priority!
Due to the great number of restraints, I’m planning to make up lots including a number of restraints. Only the top cuffs will be sold as single lots. These are my present Intensions.
It will take some time until the sale site is up and running so please be patient. I’m also going to post the restraints as they go and the sale will continue over a longer period of time.
