They look wonderful, they have been on my wants list for many years! Unfortunately living in the UK would not be possible to export them to me.

Do the 12 known examples have that sort of chain ? Not what I would expect but, have no knowledge of them.

Paul I can you mine look exactly like that and it’s one of the reasons why it’s among my least favorite rare cuffs. The chain reminds me of a type used on small steel jawed animal traps of yore.

I'm not surprised they sold quickly as the price was very decent! These leg irons are just wonderful and I was happy to have aquired a nice set recently.

They take the same key the as heavy Maltby.

And don't forget......this model of legiron were actually used on American serial-killer, Ted Bundy (True!).

(which is why I have always thought that all of the modern failed high-security & expensive handcuff innovations were really not necessary....when Tower double-locks; H&R Supers; Marlin-Daley, etc. ...could be used with today's high-risk prisoners)

Going on Joe's last comment, I went on a Google search. I was really shocked to find actual pics of the Mattatuck Leg irons being used on Ted Bundy!
