Opinion on eBay offer.

I stumbled upon a eBay listing for a set of handcuffs and leg cuffs supposedly from j block at lucasville state prison in ohio. The place it would be shipped from is New York and I’m not sure on the authenticity of the items. I’m looking for opinions on the authenticity and collectibility of this item.

Anything is collectable, it just depends on your interest.  It would be better if the cuffs were stamped with the prison name not just the cell information.

These look like the powder coated cuffs that Peerless sold or still sells.

They look pink to me and I know Sheriff Joe at Maricopa County, Arizona was a fan of these.

You can Google to see if Lucasville prison even has a death row.
It might be hard to call the prison, but you can ask if they use pink cuffs at the prison, especially Death Row, if there is one.
How agreeable they would be to answer your questions might be a crap shoot on which deputy you get on the phone.
You may want to mention the eBay sale and they can decide it your question is a security problem.

I don't think these cuffs would garner much interest or money if the story is true.  As Ron pointed out, if the cuff was marked with the prison name or if a certificate/letter was included, then it might escalate interest and value.

I did a google search and that facility does have a death row.  My background from being in Law enforcement etc I doubt the claim of it being assigned to a certain cell at the prison.   All prisons and jails I have experienced have a collective  set of restraints they use often just carried in a milk crate or something similar.  If the claims pan out I bet the stamping may pertain to a certain unit in the prison only for inventory accounting.
