Collection of handcuffs made and patented by my father

I have a collection of handcuffs which were patented and  made by my late father at hiatts in Birmingham 
Does anyone have any ideas of the value ?

Can you take a few photos so we know what models you have?
We'd be really interested in your father's involvement, what years he worked there - the story really?
The actual cuffs may be quite common unless they are prototypes.

He also identified a pair of handcuffs used in the great train robbery

Thanks Dave, that is very interesting.
The Hiatt 1960 with the flat key and chrome plated, might be worth 200GBP.
The unplated version, if it is not stamped looks like a prototype. Value???
The Hiatt 1960 with the round key and chrome plated, is very common and might be worth 50.
I quite like the bottom left 1960 with the slot in the key post, I don't think that went into production.
The parts on far right look French, but someone else may know. Someone may be interest in the parts also, but maybe they could be sold as one lot, with all the history that goes with it.

I would like to see a better photo of the newspaper, so I can read it.

Thank you for the information I will be looking at selling as I would like to have my father and mothers headstone cleaned and this would help tremendously.
A little more information my father was the Forman at the factory and my brother worked alongside,I was supposed to follow in my father’s footsteps but life had a different route for me,

Dave, I wont be a buyer since I no longer collect cuffs newer that 1900. But I'm sure you will have plenty of interest for the prototypes.

Thank you for the contact details for the Doncaster museum, they now will be receiving the collection and my fathers work and memory will live on for future generations to see.
It has also given me funds to renovate my late fathers headstone so many thanks again

Thank you for the clip not sure if my father got any interview with the tv, think it was just his boss but I do know that the tv program pick the winner was recorded but in them days I believe they re recorded other programs over this and others as I would love to find a clip of him to keep.

The Patent paper you show is for the Hiatt Reliant handcuff not their 1960 pattern. Although many of the 1960 handcuffs are marked Pat Pend they were never fully patented.
I visited Hiatt many times and knew Harry LaTrobe quite well, my first dealings with Hiatt was in about 1968. I also remember visiting them with my dear friend Alex Nichols in the mid 1980’s when Geoff Cross was the MD he introduced us to an elderly gentleman who worked at Hiatt during the 1940’s and who was there when the factory got bombed sorry but can not remember his name. Geoff Cross is now the MD at TCH who took over the premises a few years after Hiatt was taken over. He might remember the meeting?
