JGA

I have a pair of JGA handcuffs and I have never seen them anywhere else. Can anyone give me any insight on these? My brother was a police officer who passed away in 2007 and I still have some of his handcuffs from his collection. And I've never heard of this is JGA. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

The JGA handcuffs are made in Germany, probably during the 40's and the 50's. The JGA came in a plated and a blued version.

There is another brand, Geco, close connected to JGA. I'm not sure how they are connected to each other but only the stampings separete them.

The JGA pattern was also made in Spain (Chief of Police) and Japan (TWC) and accordingly marked so.

Are they collectable or just junk? I'm thinking of posting cuffs I have left, but really have no idea of their worth, and have always gotten great advice on forums (although it's been years) since I was on. Thanks for the info.

The JGA are German high quality handcuffs and absolutely no junk. The Spanish and Japan isues are lesser in quality but also not junk.

Geco was known from their high quality. I had 38. cal Geco revolver in late 1980´s. They made handguns too and starter guns for track and field sports.
