There's still a few great English cuffs in there, but you'll have to buy the groups and sell off what you don't want. But you'll still be ahead.
I can't believe they're not all sold.

There is a unique shaped W Dowler nipper in one lot. Strange knob at end of bows. 
I would have bought it if the lots were split up!

There is also a backstrap marked Wingham Kent. It is most likely a Parker or Field. I already have one, but would have bought that too if they were split up. 

These further descriptions would have made selling the cuffs easier, i would think? Since one darby looks like the next, like the next and like the next. I think some of the lots needed either more pics or more informative descriptions.

Yes, they are problematic. Lars had very little time to catalog the items, and, let's face it, many collectors are not that interested in darbies.  Hence, so many are unsold. It would have been more difficult to sell them individually. I am grateful Lars has taken the time to set up the web page for all of us and sell us some great cuffs, while offering a service to the seller.
An 1830s darby looks just like a 1930s to most collectors. Unlike mass produced, factory made cuffs, early darbies are mostly different in some way - hand made craftsmanship!

Paul, thank you for confirming what I already thought. I have been looking at each of those lots. Ron J

Paul is right! My time in Portland was very limited and it was extremely stressful to make a catalouge, photograph and numbering up all cuffs/lots in only one week. I started my work top down, with the most valuable cuffs first as my mission was to make the business as good as possible for my client.

In addition, the cuffs I went through was in a by far greater number than the ones that got listed for sale. I opted out of many restraints because they didn't work properly. A very time-consuming job to try so many cuffs and sort them out. Especially as many keys were missing.

Paul is an expert in Darby cuffs, I'm not. I would have loved to have the time to shoot many more individual pictures but I still wouldn't have been able to make professional descriptions of all these Darby cuffs, simply as I don't have the knowledge. I hope this explain the situation.

So the Darby is a Wingham Kent as Paul stated. It’s stamped that as well as Field & Son and also Holborn London. I paired the cuff with an original Field & son key I had.  

Also the W. Dowler nipper/come along is very nice. I’am still kind of new to collecting but I have never seen a nipper like this one. As Paul stated it has strange knobs at the ends that actually have holes going through them. Very nice to have these pieces in my collection now.  Many thanks to Lars for making these available from the Tom Gross collection.   Ron J
