#1A new heavy back-strap darby addition to my collection came with a few surprises.
Firstly, there are 2 makers stamps. T&A Longmore - a rare makers mark, appears on one bow, Field and Son appears on the other bow. It seems that T&A Longmore made the cuff for Field and Son. T & A Longmore bought the handcuff business of James Nichols after he died.
Often the stamp M&C (Military and Civilian) appear together. This cuff has M on one bow and C on the other, also a Broad Arrow and the date 1866. It came with 2 matching numbered keys.
