I purchase a Polish handcuff with case from a seller in England, It was shipped via the Global Shipping program and it was restricted and held by GS. Ebay stepped in and issued a complete refund to me. Well guess what, the cuffs and case are on Ebay for almost twice the price I paid and the seller is using regular mail.

There is a great backstory. The original seller contacted me and said he had made a mistake in the shipment and if I still want the cuffs I can get them. The new seller is using the original listing information and apparently has not looked at the cuffs. Like I said the original seller made a mistake and packed a pair of plain S&W's instead of the Polish cuffs. Some one is going to have a surprise.

Hi Ron,

did you inform the new seller that these are your property, illegally seized by Ebay GSP? His response would be interesting. I contacted a similar reseller once, and he told me he got them "at a liquidation sale". The GSP people think they can pull anything, because they operate in a legal void between countries.

It’s pointless trying to resolve problems with eBay and their GSP. I have had a couple of items confiscated that have later appeared at higher prices and with my photos and descriptions. Seems that once listed eBay own the copyright and allow 3rd parties to resell them. Not sure how much they pay for the items as both buyer and seller yet fully reimbursed (although as the seller they take about 20% on charges).
Don’t think the Polish cuffs will sell very quickly and someone will have a surprise.

I recommend sellers put up an imgur album link with additional pictures, so that when the new seller re-lists, you can modify the album link and add a picture that shares the story of what has happened and how much the item was originally sold for etc.

I love it when all these accidents (or "accidents"...) end up causing problems for or drawing attention to the eBay nonsense in this department. The more "liquidation buyers" (or whatever who buy up these confiscated items and re-sell them) get angry at buying an expensive lemon that will never sell OR causes problems when the buyer gets some wrong item, this idiotic part of eBay may get re-evaluated and get more sane and fit for purpose.

It would be a real shame if someone ACCIDENTALLY packaged up a cheapo toy handcuff for a listing of a Bean handcuff and days after it were sent the seller contacted the buyer (after eBay confiscated it) and offered to send the correct item free of charge and they could keep the cheapo, only to have the buyer reply saying it's ok, they received a refund so they consider the matter closed. Then the seller waits a couple months or three, assumes it's all done and dusted and legitimately sells the cuff again (without using ebay global sh** program.) It would be a crying shame

Hopefully because of this thread this situation gets resolved. By which I mean eBay decides losing money is a bad thing.

Here is the link to the "Polish" cuffs that were" restricted". They have not sold and the seller has never looked at what he has--not the Polish cuffs but S&W. If you look at the other items has to sell I think he has several "restricted" cuffs like the one from Australia.

It's my turn now ! I have found a nice pair of American Handcuffs JN-105, and they have been confiscated, from UK to France. Bad Brexit (just the fees is already nice...). I am refunded, but the pair seems lost for everywhere...
Not the rarest cuffs, but I was happy to find this curious model. Sigh.

The last time this happened to me with a pair of toy (!) handcuffs, I called Ebay and complained. They said there were not responsible. So I called Pitney Bowes ... they said they were not responsible, and they hadn't taken them. Funny.
The government can "confiscate" things, under certain legal restrictions. What they do is simply: theft.
Buy elsewhere.
