Vale Lars Holst

I have been asked to inform fellow collectors that Lars Holst has left us. No other details at this time.
I have been honoured to know Lars and be privileged to share his inner thoughts during his battle over the last year.  I know he was amazed at how he was perceived by those who kindly wrote of their inner actions with Lars. He was a private and humble man, so to go public with his plight was difficult for him, but to know how respected he was, was heartening for him. He mentioned several times that he didn't see himself as others saw him and it gave him much pride to know he was respected and well thought of.

So shocking and sad that we have lost one of the finest collectors and human beings.  When the original information was posted I contacted Lars via email and we had a good conversation.

He not only was a great collector but his ability to gather and share information with other collectors was unparalleled.  He will be missed.

Lars was the best as a man and a friend and a collector.  I spent time with him many times at the Indy Show, Ontario, and the European shows. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable and had a fantastic collection. We just lost one of the great long time collectors.

Very sad to hear the news. Like John, Lars was not only a great collector but a great contributor to the community. He was able to bring us all together with his enthusiasm, insights and kindness. You will be missed.
