HCW insane price increases WTF

anyone notice that HCW just raised many of their prices to insane points?

Yeah these prices have definitely surged by a lot.

I don't have all of the pre-increase pricing saved but some of my orders would prove the jumps are probably up to 30% depending on the product.

I like HCW but clearly someones getting greedy in the name of capitalism here. They can blame manufacturer costs but if that were true, they probably wouldn't all increase their pricing at the same time forcing HCW to make a wide spread increase in their retail price points.

HCW took this price increase effort way too far but that's just my opinion.

Also it's ridiculous that Peerless has been so behind on color manufacturing. HCW has been out of Peerless 750C red since about December and other 750C colors are not doing much better.

Yes but inflation affects lower price points gradually. Milk didn't jump from 2,99 a gallon to 6.99 a gallon in one quarter.

HCW advanced their pricing wihout warning and ultra high. That suggests to me that someone over there is trying to either bail themselves out of massive credit debt or make a lot more money.

I mean maybe both but the problem is that's called an elastic equation. Do you make more with lower margins but higher volume or do you make more with higher margins but much lower sales volume?

I would be surprised if their order volume does not significantly decrease as a result of these drastic increases.

Unfortunately, its the trickle down effect of the prices raising on everything as well as the minimum wage being driven up. That would add to the cost of sourcing materials, delivering materials, stocking, materials, making the cuffs, stocking the cuffs, picking the order and shipping the cuffs, transport of the cuffs, receiving the order, entering the order into inventory, the salesperson that takes your order. The warehouse staff that packs and ships the order, the transportation of the order to the shipper's hub, the delivery of the order to you. Everyone along that chain likely gets paid more, now. If a retailer gets a price increase from the maker, they will pass that down to the consumer. The price of gas goes up, that gets passed to the consumer, etc. The bottom line is that you are not involved with the business side of HCW. Anything said about their pricing is only speculation with no evidence to back up the claim. You dont know what Peerless did to the prices they sell the cuffs to them at? You dont know what CTS charges now, etc. I guarantee that HCW is now being charged more from the makers. The prices that havent risen yet, will rise soon. Our economy and inflation absolutely suck right now. Businesses are feeling the strain of it as are consumers. Look at the price of fast food. A $5 burger is now close to $10. At this point, im just thankful that HCW still gives us free shipping over $50. Its all just part and parcel of the financial condition of this country, currently.

Do you make a habit of vomiting out every ridiculous passing thought that enters your head? 

I use reasonable judgment that is cultivated by own experiences. I have spent a considerable amount of money at HCW.

HCW has sold at the lowest price points for years and many products were sold significantly less than the next lowest price available elsewhere.

I find it incredibly hard to accept that every single restraint manufacturer or restraint distribution source all decided that it was necessary to send a price rocket up the ass of retailers at the same time. 

Though it is possible HCW absorbed these increases as they occurred until they could no more, and then chose to simultaneously adjust all affected costs to correct their margins, this wouldn't be known to us even though consumers could then better understand why this happened.

But if you think for a minute a that businesses won't take advantage of inflation to widen their margins during inflationary periods in the name of greed, then you must live with your head stuck somewhere up your ass. 

I mean use what's left of your brain and stop trying to lessen the reality of what happened here. The prices are out of this world compared to what they were.

If you don't like my hypothetical reasons as to why this happened then ignore mine and envy your own.

And not only that but...

HCW is OOS on a lot of products including Chicago chain black now, most Peerless chain colors, and pretty much every CTS chain color to name a few.

Read that however you want but it raises questions from where I stand

You could have just pointed out the fact that they have had some pretty significant price increases as of late, but you felt the need to speculate that they are raising prices due to "massive credit debt." Just admit that it was a stupid statement, that you posted it without thinking first, and move on. But stop trying to defend it by acting like I'm the one, that as you put it, "lives with my head stuck somewhere up my ass." An easy comment to put out there when you hide behind an anonymous post. 

This isn't what the forum is here for anyway, so grow up and keep your comments to the cuffs and their prices, leaving the personal attacks and your stupid speculation about a reputable company having massive credit debt to yourself.

I'll share whatever damn opinion I want to share. That's why it's called an opinion. Because it doesn't have to be supported by tangible fact. Don't threaten me with your defamation rhetoric. Peerless 730c chain colour were $54 in December. Now in late June $60 Not exactly an astronomical increase. Everything feels like it's going up. Not sure why handcuffs would be any different. My problem is with ASP handcuff pricing. $200 for one rigid pair of handcuffs is stratospheric pricing imo. But ASP have always been expensive. Can't blame the rest of the companies or HCW for putting their prices up by a little bit in light of how things are going.

I agree ASP pricing is out of control. The Sentry line was a much needed value and so far HCW has not increased those prices.

I imagine as existing inventory sells out and new orders are received, the prices might go up for all Sentry variants. So if you want Sentry, now might be the time to buy them.

What is it with the Anonimity complaints here?

Every registered user here is as equally anonymous as a guest poster unless the registering party chooses not to be. 

There is no validation process upon sign up that requires you to enter your real email address, real phone number, or any other personally validated information.

And users can enter any name they wish to when posting as a guest in the username field including variations of your own usernames.

I can stop entering 'GUEST' if that makes you feel better and choose an alternate psuedo name or I could register for an account but that isn't gonig to change the anonimity level here.

The only way a user can be identified at the surface level is if they choose to share their real identity with the forum and only a few of you have done that for whatever reason you have.

So just lose the Anonimity argument already. It's weak, incomplete and incorrect.

This forum is a small community. Just about everyone on here, knows everyone by name. We do not typically post as "anonymous." At one time, there was a rule that you had to put your real name on the bottom, every time you post. Some of us still do that. As far as Im concerned, the moderator for this forum could dump this entire thread and we would be no worse for the wear. This thread brings nothing of importance or shares any handcuff knowledge with the users of the forum.

It seems to me if our "guest" wanted an answer to his inquiry, contacting HW directly and asking them why their prices are rising, would be our guest's best route of obtaining an answer. None of us on here work for HW, so bottom line is anything said here is just speculation at this point. If Chris were in debt and had to raise prices to bail himself out, he would be the one to answer that.

I have no idea who the guy you mention is but I never said any person was in debt. And I never said any business was in debt. And I never said any person or any business were in bad debt.

I simply gave possible reasons why the price increases might have happened beyond the obvious answer of inflation. A business for example could be looking to pay their credit lines off in preparation for business sale.

Amost all businesses carry debt especially retail businesses as their inventory is usually financed by somoene.

Everything in this discussion was fine until Captain shithead over there went full on defensive mode like some out of control self-righteous savage and started talking all this liability garbage when that wasn't the intent of my discussion at all.

And this might be a small community but it's a small public community. If you don't like that then the ask the mods to make it private and ask the mods to delete this post and ask the mods to disable guest posting.
