Handcuffs from holstcollection for sale

My namn is Ulrica Lindvall and I am married to the late Lars Holst. Through this post, I want to inform all collectors that as from today 240815 I have started selling my dear husband’s collection of handcuffs etc., all in exceptionally good quality, which I assume everyone here is already very well aware of.

I have today, to the best of my ability and with the help of a collector and good friend to both of us, posted a Berliner from Lars collection on eBay.com. I will sell Lars’s collection at my own pace, only through forums chosen by me, but if it is okey with the forum, I will be happy to inform you of an upcoming sale on this forum. You will always recognize the items as I will write “provenance holstcollection” on each sale.

Today I used Lars’s profile at this forum, which I hope is fine according to your rules, if not, please let me know.

I can't speak for Joe, the founder of this site, but our dearly missed Lars was a great friend of many of us here and he posted many notices of cuffs that he had for sale and on the Gross Collection that he was selling for Gross's friend.
I don't have the last word, but I see no reason that you shouldn't post any upcoming offerings.
I am honored to have known Lars and value all the items that I purchased and/or traded.
I believe all of us would be very interested in learning what items in his world class collection can be purchased, so an advance notice of your eBay listing is certainly welcome.

Potential bidders can SAVE your seller info and click on every few days to watch what items you list.
I also believe that your auctions will be very known in our collecting community, and you will receive many quality bids.

It was really an honor to have spent time with Lars a few times, in the US and in Europe, and our text messages were very happy times!

Thank you for posting here. Mark summed up my thoughts perfectly. I treasure the pieces I have from Lars not just because they are amazing cuffs but because they were cared for by Lars - a man who we all respected and loved.

Do whatever works best for you.
This forum mostly is serious collectors who you’ll find respect and support from, and I hope that even long after the sale you’ll pop in and say hello to us, because it sure was nice to see a post from ‘Lars’ again. He left a legacy and lives long in our hearts and memories.

I had the honour to meet Lars several times and always enjoyed his company. He became a very respected collector and the quality of his items became the gold standard.
He will be very sadly missed by all our community and thank you for informing us about his collection.

Ms Lindvall im so sorry for your loss. Your late husband Lars was a great help to me adding to my collection. He was such a kind and caring man. I only hope I that I will be able to add just one of his many items to my collection as a never ending memory of Lars.

it's been a year, and I still think about him a lot. His enthusiasm, his friendliness, and his hospitality. Placing his treasured pieces in the hands of other collectors will keep his memory alive, not diminish it. We'd all much rather have Lars with us.

Dear Ulrica,
Perhaps a warning is due ... Your listing is apparently on eBay / UK.  When shipping, DO NOT use eBay Global shipping service.   As reported on this forum, many times handcuffs shipped through their service have been confiscated as not permitted, then offered for sale by the people running the service, with no payment to the original seller.  Better to ship using Sweden postal service.

So sorry for your loss.  As the many comments here show, Lars was very well respected as a person and as a knowledgeable collector.

eBay Global shipping service is shocking. All that will happen is buyer gets refunded, the item gets confiscated, sold off in a lot to random bulk sellers who don't care about the items at all and they hike up the price for their own profit. It's a total racket.

Thank you for the heads up but I have no attention to use other transport companies than the Swedish Post. I have listed the object on the eBay.com not the UK site, but the object appears on all eBay’s sites, the German one too. I haven’t taken actively part in Lars collection but I have indirectly been part of it, impossible to do anything else during our 15 years living together. Thank you all for all nice words and thoughts of Lars, he is missed a lot!

We shared many discussions and thoughs about Finnish handcuffs with Lars. He was best expert in Scandinavian handcuffs. When I study my collection, every time Lars in on my mind. He really was Mr. Handcuff.

Lars was a great friend.  We all miss him very much.

Lars was a true gentleman, who was happy to share his wealth of knowledge with his fellow collectors.
I've learned so much about European restraints from him.
