Peerless BOA with ring in center

Can you tell please. Is this original Peerless BOA with ring in center or modified model?

Have never seen a BOA like this, could have been a special order but likely a mod. The folks at BOA are super friendly though and will answer collector questions so may be worth reaching out to ask them.

Try using a magnet on the center ring and please let me know if it is made of stainless steel. If so, it may be one that was welded up by a good friend of mine. He and I have made a few different configs of restraints using BOA cuffs. Where did you purchase the cuffs from?

Thank you for your reply and recommendation. I hope to receive these handcuffs in 2 weeks and will check the ring for magnetism, then write here.

P.S. The history of the purchase of the handcuffs is unknown to me yet, but I will try to find out from the seller. I will ask these questions after receiving the handcuffs.

An examination of the photo shows traces of welding on the ring and chain links on the handcuff. This suggests that the product is not factory-made.

Thanks for the message. I'll take more photos when I get the handcuffs. It's not quite clear in these photos. It might be a shadow.

Hello! I got an answer from Chris Patzer (Handcuff Warehouse). Very sorry, but this is modified Peerless BOA.

Hi,

This is modified. Peerless does not use rings like that. If Peerless were to make this as a custom restraint, they would have used twist link chain.

Hello! I asked the seller about the history of the origin of these handcuffs in Russia. The seller bought the handcuffs at a flea market in Vladimir (Russia). No more information. The handcuffs with shipping cost me $18 ;)

Hi Alex,

Clearly, the cuffs in your photo were modified. I do not recall adding a ring in between the cuffs for anyone. However, that does not mean we have not done it. Over the years, we have done a lot of custom chains.

Our website has photos of most of our products. Basically, almost everything available in Peerless and Smith & Wesson can be had with our High Security system. The only one that we have not done is the S&W Hinged. However, we do offer the hinged with the Peerless cuffs.

Hi Alex,

This looks like a modified version of the current Peerless Model 710 - High Security Chain Link Handcuff.

Standard unit does not have the extra links and rings.

It’s pretty cool (I think) that they accept the collector community, especially when some companies have tried to be law enforcement exclusive.
