KW

Hey all,
A while back someone was talking about cuffs stamped KW. with the K being inside the W.
I cant remember where I saw it, was it Michael Busch talking about it?
I have a Deutsche Polizei WEst German cuff stamped with it

In the 1950s several handcuff- related patents were given to a person with the name Kurt Metk. The handcuffs made by Mr Metk all showed the KM logo, they were sold by the Horst Stein company of Munich, Germany, under the name Horst Moabit. Later made restraints from another manufacturer no longer had the KM logo.

It is my idea that the KW on the DP style handcuff not really is a KW but rather a KM. Perhaps a KM metal-stamp was made, the mirror-effect that a stamp has was not considered and a "wrong" stamp was used anyway.
If this is the case it is my idea that Kurt Metk at some time worked for August Schwarz, possibly made a few handcuffs under his own label after the Schwarz company was destroyed in WWII, before he came up with his own line of restraints that were marketed by Horst Stein.

Yes, this is what i vaguely recall thank you for this sometimes you get the W as inverted M....I guess that why my dad always call my mother WoW instead of MoM LOL
