#1Back in the day, Maurice of FETTERS produced some great and interesting restraints. As a teenage, I pondered how he created such 'clean' hinges in thick metal. When I received my first FETTERS product, I examined the hinge and found no signs of the typical blacksmithing hammer marks. I was in communication with Chris Gower at the time and he mentioned he had worked with Maurice making cuffs. I asked Chris if he could tell me how the hinges were made as I wanted to produce similar items. Chris said he was not at liberty to say and implied it was Maurice's trade secret. I came up with other methods to make some of the item I made. Many years later, I brought the subject up with Chris again and he confessed he never actually knew. Throughout the years I had asked engineers and they told me the possible solution. This video is the likely answer to make a clean and accurate hinge knuckle with ease.
