Bail Briefcase w/cuff patent

This was a product patented in 1988 (and never produced, as far as I'm aware of)

It was called the Bail Briefcase, it had a length of cable and a single cuff attached, and would contain variable weights. It was intended to be affixed to a person out on bail, to make them easily identifiable as a person bonded, to deter them from committing additional crimes & make running, jumping and climbing a burden.  Just a modernized version of a ball and chain or Oregon Boot.

In a similar vain, a gyve was patented for an escorted criminal flying on aircraft to wear. It was an ankle weight consisting of a bag of lead shot, wrapped around one ankle and padlocked. I saw it an article of a inflight magazine in 1983. It also showed another device for inhibiting a person from holding a gun. This device was a hollow sphere that open via a hinge. Three lengths of ball chain were attached around the edge. These chains would encircle the wrist and across the fingers and then be fastened back into the sphere which was shut and I assume locked? This configuration postioned and held the sphere in the palm of the hand. The sphere would have been about 50mm diameter. Maybe others could find these patents?
