Unknown Darby Leg irons

Hi fellow collectors,

I bought these leg irons from an English dealer. The only marking I can make out is the number "24" on each cuff. The key seems to be an original. The chain is about 30 cm long. Any ideas, who the manufacturer might be?

I have no idea, but I have a key that look just like yours that came with similar unmarked handcuff.

the key is indeed similar, but not equal. Here is a picture of the handcuffs for comparison.

Oops, sorry Joe, it is already very late here in Germany and I accidentally read that I had a similar key for unmarked handcuffs (and I really have).

But maybe you can post a picture of your cuffs with the similar key? Thank you in advance.

I checked my cuffs and the key and I was thinking about is shown below.




The key came with a pair of W.F handcuffs, but it is not the original key since the patinas of the cuffs and key do not match. The significance of the key is that it is larger than most handcuff keys. For example it will not fit into the lock of most Hiatts.

W.F is an unknown British maker, but there is no reason to beleive they made this key. It just that their handcuffs are a little larger than the norm and so is this key.

So I don't think this help you identify your legiron.
