I have a Tower handcuff that I think is not a double lock because it does not say "Double Lock" anywhere on the cuff.

My question is, did the double lock come first or second in the timeline of these cuffs?
If they are the earlier version what year did the double lock model take over?

Jerry some of the Tower Double lock cuffs aren’t stamped Double Lock. The single locks were prior to the double lock which I believe was patented in 1879. If you could post a picture of your cuffs I could tell you if it’s a double lock or a single lock. Ron J
