S.A. Handcuffs

Following my purchases from Pete McCahons collection, again a small error has occured in Alex's book. Namely the Reutler Handcuffs. Volume 1 shows the handcuffs from Pete's collection clearly marked Reutler and Alex shows in Volume 2 the improved version. We can now confirm that the two models are the same (except the one shown in Vol 1 is nickel plated and has a date stamp on it 8/95, the ones shown in Vol 2 are chrome plated without a date stamp). Both sets are marked Reutler. Information about Weiner Reutler was obtained from James McKenzie a militaria dealer in South Africa. He did try to contact Reutler for me about 2 years ago to find out what happened to his personal handcuff collection. It appears it was auctionned about 3 years ago. At the back of my mind I know that Pete did visit South Africa and think he may have purchased his set directly from Reutler. However, Pete also bought back with him a set of folding cuffs made of stainless steel marked SAP. These are quite nicely made but I do not know if they were made by Reutler, does any one else have a set of these?? I do know that Reutler made a folding set with long bows on them and am now trying to locate these.
James McKenzie told me that Reutler moved to Switzerland and never did get paid for the handcuffs and badges he supplies to the Zimbabwe Police.
