Hi. I would like to see if anyone is interested in going in on this with me. I am very interested in the 1st chain cuff and the brass La Policiere. The other cuffs I already have and would like to find someone who is interested in the other La Policiere, chain berliner, thumbscrew, and the Lyon Presto.

Upon looking at the rare chain cuff in the upper left of the pic, I noticed it has a very unusal and interesting mechansim no doubt designed just like it is to better aid the officer in applying the cuffs quickly.

Note the two outer cylinders on either side of the main one. At the top of these 2 outer lock cylinders you will notice a ring.

I believe that this ring pulls up on a spring loaded plunger. The very bottom end of the plunger drives through the chain links capturing them.

Unlike a standard chain Berliner where the guard or cop has to laboriously screw the nut closed, with this design all you need to do it wrap the chain around the wrist, fit a desired link into the slot and then let go of the ring on the plunger.

The wrists are now held secure until the key is used to tighten the centre tube screw. I imagine once this middle screw is tightened down it serves as something of a "double lock" and prevents the rings on the plunger cylinder from moving or being pulled up.

No I do not want to put the cuffs on eBay. This sale is only for serious collectors. It is an auction for handcuffs.org. Those handcuffs are very rare and search by serious collectors. Joe gave me a clearance for that sale.

I would like to sell the cuffs together not separately. So I am waiting for offers and in a couple of weeks ( I shall be on holiday next wednesday for 2 weeks) the highest offer will receive the 6 cuffs. I have given a minimum price to protect the value

I am very sad to sale a part of my collection. It is very hard to ''give'' very rare and nice sets but I have got very good personal reasons for that.

Congratulations to the lucky winner. You now have some great pieces.
If some of these are duplicates in your collection and wish to sell them, I know two or more buyers that are interested in obtaining any item that you wish to part with.
I am very interested in the Brass La Policiere for myself and I hope that you already have one in your collection. Of course I have a strong interest in the chain cuff but I am sure that it too was your main intention on acquiring this magnificent set.
I hope that you will consider selling off any duplicates but even if you want to keep them, you have some rare cuffs that you should be very proud of.
