Hello I will like to know how to see patents of GOTCHA Handcuffs?

You will have to find a US patent data bank and do a search. Here in south/eastern Michigan, our data bank is at the Detroit Public Library. They have limited hours that they will allow you to look up patents, so after you find the data bank, call ahead and make sure you have plenty of time to search. I hope this helps. Mike

All patents is possible to find at www.uspto.gov and patent search. But to view pictures is necessary to download a special plug-in for your web browser, but this is nothing difficult. There is one great advantage - it is possible to download the hole patent file with all images and text. The comfort for users is very high!! To say the least - the best.

It is also possible to use http://gb.espacenet.com but their documents are in PDF format and it is not possible to download the hole file and in addition if you save indidual site (with image or text)ih still has a connection to other parts and in case you are not online, it is not possible to see the other parts. In addition it is not possible to print this and the comfort is terrible. The former espacenet system was much better. It was also in PDF but it was possible to save individual pages and images and print them without any restriction.

I downloaded almost all handcuffs documents from both databases and I plan to manufacture some handcuffs which have never been manufactured.

Hmmm, I was looking at this site for the patents for Alcyon 15900 byt without any resoults. Does anyone know the numer of the patent for these cuffs?

To be frank, it is not possible to find all patents there. I know several French or Asian cuffs and I haven´t found these patents in US database. In addition I downloaded many patents from espacenet under the older good system and I am also unable to find them in US database now, since they have different marking and file number.

In addition I would like to see patent file for STAR high security cuffs with flat key, has anybody of you this?

I found the Spanish patent office- http://www.oepm.es but misfortune there aren't any patent drawings or irfomations avaible to download.

Hello All,
Have any of the collector/dealers been able to obtain any Gotcha cuffs for resale? I noticed that the Gotcha (Taper Industries) website has dropped some of the "sold only to authorized law enforcement agencies" language. Might this signal that the cuffs will become more readily available soon.

Hi to all,

today I managed to find plenty of old handcuffs patent files, mostly from France. The handcuffs shown there are identical to La Massenote, La Policierre, FN Herstal, GK !!! and many others. I spent several hours by looking for them. The only problem is I have to adjust them to the proper substance. I hope they will be available with other my older patents approximately one month later... Perhaps:)

Gotcha still requires Police agency information on their information request form. Most of the FAQ's also refer to police officer safety. I don't see them selling to collectors anytime soon. From what i know, they are currently way behind in production.
