Magic Castle

Hi conventioneers, we are less than a month away from the big event.

I posted an invitation for dinner and magic at the Magic Castle here a few weeks ago and have a grand list of those who wish to attend. This group will be comprised of some of the top cuff enthusiasts in the world. I tried to coordinate an early dinner so those coming from far away would not have to deal with jet lag but it seems that I will need to move the dinner up to 8 pm so that we will have enough time to meet at the Doubletree Hotel and convoy over to the Castle. I will be renting a car so I will be able to take a few people with me. There are 8 signed up so far and I am sure there will be some add-ons at the last minute. I am looking for 1 other driver preferably with a large car to help me with this project. All of us that have signed up are not from the L.A. area and I believe that I am the only one with a car. Please let me know if any of you will be driving to the convention and would want to join the group to the Castle and would be willing to carry 3 or 4 passengers. This is going to be a great time that you won't want to miss. The drive from the hotel to the Castle is not that far and I am guessing it will take an hour or less.

I will be looking into a shuttle bus in the mean time. It would cost us a few bucks but it would be more relaxing. If we have to go that route, at least I can be the designated drinker.

Please let me know if you can help us out with transportation or even if you can't and would still like to attend.

Ian, the top side of the road would be best!
The handcuff boys from east of the Mississippi will be flying out on the 5th and they will have a car. They may be able to meet us at the Castle so I will be your chauffeur and will be delighted to bring Joe Laurer and possibly Lars as well (if he doesn't get picked up at the airport by the other guys).
It is looking good and I am getting excited as this is all fitting together. I expect all the final details will be completed approximately a week before the dinner and show.

If anyone else wishes to be included, please let me know very soon as space is getting pretty limited. Also remember, suits and ties are a must.
Now for even better news: I just found out who the main act is going to be.....The Pendragons!
I am not at all that familiar with the Who"s Who of magic, but I looked at the month long calendar and did not recognize one name except for theirs. I have seen this husband and wife team perform before and we are in for an extra special treat! The timing could not have been any better. What a way to start the festivities! See you there!

Hi Mark,
I saw your posting on the web, and I thought I'd contact you. A few years ago, a guy gave me his card (Magic Castle logo on it), and said I should call him if I ever wanted to go. This was after I told him that I'm absolutely fascinated by magic shows. I can't find it anywhere, and was hoping you might know someone who could extend an invitation. I'd appreciate any help. I'm trying to set up dinner for next Saturday, dec 10.

Hi Nancy, I am not a member of the club and used some passes from some cuff collectors who frequent this site. I am not at liberty to pass their names along and feel funny about asking them for the favor. I hope one or more of them will take it on themselves to see that you have a good time at the Castle, You also may want to stop in at your local magic shop and ask the proprietor there if he is a member and perhaps set up the date for you. Please write back here if this was of any help. I wish I could do more for you as I want you to enjoy it as much as I do.
Are there any members out there that can help this damsel in distress?
