Question on handcuffs, best handcuffs brand ???

Hello I hesitate between 3 handcuffs and I would like to know which are the differences between these handcuffs: smith and wesson 100, smith and wesson 100 P, smith and wesson model 1. The smith and wesson model 1 is it better than the model 100 ???

Also which would be the best handcuffs brand between: Smith & Wesson, ASP, Hiatts, Peerless ?

Hello, Let's answer the first question.. The difference between the Model 100 & 100P would be the location of the device which activates the double lock. THE MODEL 100 has it on the flat surface of the Cuff Body which makes it easy to reach Regardless how someone is handcuffed. The Model 100 P has it on the Side Edge of the Cuff body similar to your Standard Peerless or Hiatts Models as well as a host of other cuff manufacturers.. The Model 1 S&W is a larger Handcuff that has a greater range of Shackle Diameters from larger to smaller wrist sizes.

The question of which cuff is the best is a Timeless Debate. Which has been beaten to death in a number of previous posts which you can do a search on within the archives..

If you are a Law Enforcement Officer then your department should have a Handcuff Selected & Approved for their department spelled out within your departments Operational Guidelines.. I highly doubt that any responsible or reputable Law Enforcement agency doesn't spell out the department approved restraint(s) especially in the US!
